Engine Air Filter
To put your hands on the filter, loosen the two hose clamps on the intake tube (7 mm IIRC). Remove the tube and move it rearward out of the way. You don't have to remove the hoses mounted on the tube. There is a round plate at the rear of the box with one catch holding it in place. Press in on the catch and rotate the plate. If the plate still seems attached, pry up on the edge with a putty or butter knife. The plate pops off and the filter is exposed.
Grab the shop vac - there's usually leaves and such in the bottom of the box. The filter has a white pre-filter. You can carefully work that off and bang it against the trash can to dislodge the dirt in the media.
