Default Heated Steering Wheel & Climate Control

I've always loved heated steering wheels - especially since I drive in chilly New England winters.

But the Audi is the best heated steering wheel I have ever had.

No it doesn't have a lot of features like some cars - only an on/off button and no variable heat.

However, it warms up quickly and the temp is perfect for my liking. Not too cold - not too hot. Plus the temperature of the wheel decreases when the car warms up! No more adjusting temps or turning it on or off.

In fact, I have to say the entire climate control is the best on any car I have every owned. Set it to auto and forget it. The fan speed always seems to be at the right setting. No annoying cold air blowing at you. Very quiet operation. Front heated seats are awesome - and they come on automatically and revert to the last temp setting when you start the car. Back seat passangers have their own heated seats and climate controls.

Much better than my last Mercedes E350 and BMW 535xi.

These are the types of things that make a car truly enjoyable to drive.

See?? I remember when you were this close to drop the towel because of what happened at the dealer. It was worth it, isnt?

I'm a big fan of heated steering wheel as well being in Chicago.

Funny that you feel this way. My biggest gripe is the weak heated steering wheel in comparison to my prior BMWs. I loved how those were hot the Audi is barely warm. I too am in chicago and i like my wheel to be hot!

That is a very subjective, individual preference thing. I find the heated wheel just right. On the other hand, the heated seats are (for me) way too warm. I have it on setting 1 and have to turn it off after a few minutes. At the same time, my wife keeps it permanently on at setting 3.

My A6 heated seats seems to work the same way. On the driver side set to 3, my butt gets scorched but when my wife sets it to 3, it's comfortable. For some reason, the two seat heater controls seem to be calibrated differently.

Interesting. I have never sat in the passenger seat so I can't say.

Have you actually sat in the passenger seat and confirmed?

When you wife drives the car, does she keep the driver's seat on 3?
