Infrared issue
Hi there.
Finally picked up my A7 yesterday and a 700km drive back gave the oppurtunity to play with all the features.
Now here is the case; i have infrared lights and camera installed on it but in no possible way i get the display to light up. Done some research and it appears that there is a "3rd" button by the light control ****? Something gone wrong on my car? Its a 2011 model.

There is a button on the lighting switch to activate it, the NV camera is not on by default, and it's not automatically switched on when it's dark.
There are also a few reasons it may not be "working":
1. Your headlights must be on.
2. The ambient temperature must be below a certain high point (think it's like 85 degrees or something. It's in the manual)
3. Make sure the camera lens is clean (it's inside the front Audi ring badge, on the right hand side)
Note that the Audi Night Vision does NOT have infrared lights. Your probably referring to the radar modules for the ACC (looks like black fog lamps)
Let's know if you get it resolved.

The camera by the reversing mirror is for a couple of different options, all processed by the onboard electronics: Traffic sign recognition where it puts the speed limit sign in the dash?HUD display (In Europe - not sure about US), auto hi-low beam (it sees cars coming towards you and dips your lights) lane change tracking (if you drift out of lane it vibrates your steering wheel) etc.

Nah i dont have speed limits on the dash, dont have HUD. yea noticed the hi low beam, works great! Lane change tracking, read about it but doesnt work for me, vagcom modification? Got side assist
