Default Install cost on Stasis exhaust

Good morning all,

My car is on a boat coming over now, really psyched.

So my dealer, who I'm buying the car from, is a Stasis dealer too. They want $460.00 to install the exhaust.

They're charging me full retail for the exhaust, $2195.00. So I figure they've got profit there, too.

I'm all for capitalism, people making money. I'm just trying to keep them honest.

So what do you think? Is this a fair price? What install did price did you pay?

Thanks in advance and Happy Thanksgiving!

You should be charged for 2 hours of installation time, so the hourly rate varies from dealer to dealer. I was one of the first to pre-order the stasis exhaust so I didn't pay for the full MSRP. Hope this helps.

DIY... Its not hard to install.

I would even suggest going with a different exhaust system.
IMO there are better systems for the money.

Can you suggest a system other than Stasis that's available in the US now?

Hi there,

Would love to know of other exhaust choices. I didn't know of any other.

Thanks in advance,

Default Warranty is a stickler

Hi all,

I been dealing with this today, but have a resolution.

First let me say that Stasis and for that matter Achtuning, are a pleasure to deal with.

So here's the bottom line.

If you order the exhaust from Achtuning, the Stasis Exhaust is voided. Not only that, Stasis wouldn't be able to stand by something with the engine or transmission. Yikes!

But what Stasis did, was to match the Achtuning price -- so that solved the issue for me.

The $400.00 savings is nowhere near the trade off of the warranty being voided, but I really appreciate Stasis matching the Achtuning price.

So there you go.

I posted to the other thread too.

It's a legit concern.

I could certainly see where a couple of R8 claims could put a hurt on them. Then, where the car owner could end up with no coverage.

One thing this did, is make clear that if one chooses to modify thier car while under warranty, they're putting their warranty at risk.

I'm not so concerned about putting an exhaust on. I had an S4 a few years ago, put a different exhaust on it. I had it in a few times while under warranty, never had an issue with a dealer -- "Hey, you have a different exhaust, no warranty for you".

After reading this - thank you - I am thinking twice about doing the ECU upgrade.

Thanks again,

The aftermarket warranty that is offered through the Audi dealership on behalf of stasis is not applicable if you purchase the exhaust through an independent shop that is not an Audi dealership. There have been tons of threads on Audizine about the true value of the stasis warranty. Audi of America even released a statement clarifying that it is indeed an aftermarket, independent warranty. Stasis and their dealerships are just trying to twist the words of AoA to make it suitable for them and their clients.
