Havana Black w/Nougat, Prestige. 19" sport package, cold weather and Full LED. Dark Walnut. Putting the Stasis Exhaust and super charger (which will be out in a month) on it. Gonna be a bit-chin ride. Audi is making kick **** cars.

I can't afford it, but can't afford not to! And I'm a car guy, so carpe diem, baby. Hey! I feel like it's the best SUV money can buy. And we're in the mountains in CO, so given the choice, I'd never drive anything but an Audi. This is my 3rd (knock on wood).


Questions:
1. Innovation versus Full LED.
We're in the mountains with the animals (present company excluded, of course). My sales guy says the Innovation package is great for spotting animals on the side of the road. He's a nice guy, but I learned not to trust sales guys years ago. So I'm skeptical. When a Deer comes across the road, it happens in an instant. And if there's someone behind you, or in the oncoming lane, breaking or swerving isn't an option. You take the hit, hope for the best. So in the most common case of animal wreck, I can't see where the Innovation would be a difference maker.

I'm in tech, but not familiar with how advanced sensory/recognition is now. So maybe it works.

Has anyone had any experiences where an animal was spotted and you feel like it made a difference, saved you a wreck? Just trying to quantify the cost difference.

2. What else would say is a must have reason(s) for the Innovation?

3. Interior.
Going with Nougat. My sales guy says the car will have Black everything (Carpet and Dashboards) and the headliner will be Moon Silver. Is he right?

4. So for 70k and change, I'm hoping my freaking iPhone works nicely.
In cruising the forum, seems like it does. Does it work right from the get go or do I need to buy a cable? And of course as soon as someone solves the problem (which has to do with how the cable is pinned) of the album art not showing on display, please do! Hello, OEM cable makers. Opportunity is knocking!

I talked to the folks at Stasis today. The supercharger upgrade will be out in a month.

Innovation package includes night vision with pedestrian detection, ie it alerts you if someone is crossing your path. This will not work for animals that have a different heat signature and silhouette. However, you will likely be able to see animals on the side of the road at night on the screen, but that means that you have to constantly look at it.

Pedestrian alerts don't work at higher than 75F ambient temperature.

I personally very much like the head-up display that comes with the innovation package.

 

on 3.: yes, he is right.

on Stasis: I think Stasis is working on an ECU upgrade. Haven't heard anything about a supercharger upgrade.

 

Gangee - The night vision is programmed to recognize humans and draws a yellow box around them in the dash video. Turns red if they get in your path. Other animals will just give off a heat signature that may help you spot them. You will love the nougat interior. I think it's very rich looking. Good luck!

 

ECU, super-charger, exhaust - 450-500 hp??????????

Last time I heard STaSIS was not working on a super-charger, only ECU.

 

I learn something new every day! Did not know about the 75 degree thing on the night vision! I know - RTFM.

 

Just got off the phone with Jack at Stasis. He said, "with the exhaust and software upgrade you're looking at an extra 75hp".

So maybe I'm using the wrong lingo? I used "supercharger", maybe it's an ECU (what does that stand for?)?

 

Electronic control unit, or engine control unit as some put it. Basically an ECU upgrade is a remap of the software that controls the engine, boost pressure, fuel injection, etc to allow more combustion of the fuel so more energy is created.

 

Took my car into the dealership today to get my windshield replaced (d-ohhh). My dealership is authorized stasis rep. I mentioned to my service associate that I heard that the stasis ecu upgrade was comming out soon. She said that she thought it was only a couple weeks away. She also said that she may have some info she could send me on it. If she forwards me anything not already discussed i will post.
