"Lights Malfunction" indication
I have a strange message that appears on cold starts indicating "Lights Malfunction". Interestingly, this message goes away within 3-5 seconds of it appearing and it never stays forever.
It only seems to happen when lights turn on when the car is cold.
Here is the sequence:
* Car starts
* Lights malfunction message appears and disappears
* Then every couple minutes, same thing happens
* After about 15-minutes, no more "Lights Malfunction" messages.
At least my A4 told me which light exactly was the problem. Doesn't seem like any of the front lights stop working, so I wonder if it's an electrical problem or an LED is misbehaving.

I think I might know what's going on (at least with mine). I only get the error when I am making a turn at low speeds. I have the LED headlights so I believe there is something going on with the "cornering lights".
I don't know if the cornering light is or isn't working when this happens. I will keep you posted. I did not have any issues this morning.
I went to my dealership and they were able to fix it. They took off entire bumper, over-nighted the part, which I believe was the entire headlight unit. In the end, they replaced the front, right headlight unit and the error message is gone now.
I also had the same concerns that the dealer wouldn't be able to get the fault, but they said they are able to read the faults the car threw in the past. Luckily for me, when the service person started up the car, it popped up right there so he was convinced there's something wrong.
So, go to your dealership, have them check prior faults the car threw and they'll fix this for you all.
