Slightly embarrassing question - how to remove license lights

My A7 is very early build and doesn't have the LED license plate lights. Thinking of adding, but sad to say I can't figure out how to gain access to the bulbs. There is a little black plastic slot by the lenses, but I can't figure out how to use that to actually remove the lens to access the bulbs.

Any tips?

If the A7 is like the S4, you push the left edge of the black bulb housing from left to right. I highly recommend a plastic tipped tool to avoid scratching (especially if you slip).

I bought a set of plastic trim tools from Bojo to change out my bulbs for LEDs.

They worked great so far...
