Steering wheel Issue
Hi Everyone!
I have an appointment with the dealer this week to look at my steering wheel memory setting that adjusts when you set the seat position. I have had my 2013 Prestige A7 since June and it has less than 4k miles on it but every once in a while when I get into it, the wheel does not return to the set position. Also, one time I got into the car and the seat went into a position that was totally wrong for me. I know, I know, the gremlins are driving it at night when I'm sleeping or my wife is sneaking it out without me knowing
But I checked all that. The Gremlins are safely in their cages and my wife has been nowhere around the car since it has occurred when I was on a business trip alone. I also checked that I always had the same key fob when using the car.
Anyway, would appreciate to hear before I go in for my appointment if anyone else has had this issue. Forewarned is Forearmed. Thanks for your help, Rick

Your wife may have followed you on your business trip. No doubt wife trailers have happened before to others.
I have only experienced a squeaking steering column when temp drops below 32F. Of course dealer could not simulate when servicing (temp above 32F).
Good luck and keep an eye out for the wife, too.

Just got back from the dealer. Evidently there is a technical bulletin that applies to this condition that shows up as a 48K8 code error. According to the tech, they updated the software and it SHOULD be fine. Have to wait and see.

I am sorry to inform you that the tech has no idea what he is talking about, the 48k8 steering update (it is not an error) was released to fix the wandering issues when the car is driving on the highway, a lot of members didn't like the update they reported the steering too soft even In dynamic and no real difference between comfort auto and dynamic modes.

Thanks for the input. I guess it goes to show you that just because it says Technician on the shirt doesn't mean they know what the're doing
They said if the problem persisted, I should bring it back and they would contact Audi Of North America. From what you said, I guess that's what's going to happen. Thanks
