Surveys!!!
1) A survey from the dealer (which I expected.)
2) A survey from Audi (which I also expected.)
3) A lengthy survey from J.D.Power which I completed.
4) A lengthy online survey requested by email which I completed...
5) only to receive another email from the same company stating that the first survey was only the first in a series.
6) Another survey request via email which I deleted and cannot remember from whom.
7) Yet another survey request via email which I deleted and cannot remember from whom.
8) And now the granddaddy of them all - a 570 question survey via mail from Maritz Research. It could be only 500 questions if you are single, own no other cars, test drove no other cars, etc. But yes, the "check all that apply" and "rate from 1 to 5" questions total 570 questions!
I never received this many survey requests when I purchased a new Jaguar, two new Lexus, new Infiniti, Chrysler or Cadillac. I'm sure that there are some that I just haven't received yet. Doesn't this seem ridiculous?
Circular file for most of them unless a survey sponsor is willing to pay you a reasonable amount for your time (and you have nothing better to do).
Interestingly, in 11 months since purchase, I've only received one short survey from a marketing firm with a $5 bill enclosed which I completed for the heck of it. Strangely, nothing from my dealer or Audi directly. I did receive a letter invite to participate in a comprehensive auto focus group in Boston which would have paid up to $700 if selected. I called the same day to respond and they had already filled the group for Audi A6 owners a week prior. Weird.
Audi is a very strange company.
In my book they all get "6"'s.
9) This one is from RDA Group (http://auto-quality.us)
