Test drove/pulled the trigger...
I test drove the a7 last week and fell in love.
Put an order in and it is currently being built. Not gonna lie, I am super impatient waiting for it.
We ended up going with Phantom Black on Black. Got it fully loaded with the exception of the B&O sound system.
I must say the Bose was plenty enough for me...the B&O just didn't do much for me.
Husband has an R8, will post pics soon in the R8 section.
My wife also test drove then ordered an A7. We were told it would be about 3 months, but I have a feeling it will be closer to 4 or 5 months. We still don't have a a build date or production number.
Like you my wife and I recently test drove an A7 and also have fallen in love. Very nice car and we drove the A8 right after the A7- it was no comparison and we both preferred the A7 hands down. So much better connected to the road and the A7 still has a surprisingly nice ride quality.
You mention the "B&O just didn't do much for me". I am trying to choose options now and I am wondering if you got the hear the A7 B&O system? I design and sell hifi electronics so I am a bit of a nut for sound and therefore tempted to go that way but would really like to hear from someone who has heard the Bose compared to the B&O in the A7. Any feedback would be most appreciated.
Thansk!

First, take the sound signal. There is a famous saying - garbage in, garbage out. If you listen mostly to xm radio, the signal is not very good, so IMO, the B&O is not justified. If you listen to quality recorded CD's, the B&O may be justified. You will have to listen for yourself to decide.
But even if you listen to well recorded music and if you are going fast or if there is a lot of road noise, the B&O may not be worth it.
So try it for yourself with the CD's and XM radio stations that you frequently listen to.
Any word from the dealer? The only thing I am aware of that may be holding things up is the availability of rear cameras due to the Japanese disaster.

And again, will the sonic difference be worth the money if the car is on the road, vs. being parked in a quiet dealer show room.
I am sure you will be able to buy a lot of good music for the money saved on B&O, if it doesn't work out. Good Luck.

He is really big into sound quality and would always choose a B&O over a boise but when we heard the B&O---something was missing. I can't put my finger on it but when we heard it we knew it wasn't worth the extra 6k.
