Default Tint poll

I want to install window tint because sun gets sometimes really strong here in CA, not exactly hot but the sun is strong and could sunburn my newborn daughter.
I do not like the limo like, can you please tell me which % are you using and if you are using all around or darker in the rear?thanks

I went with Ceramic in OEM tint (35%?) It has unique properties of not only reducing heat transfer substantially, but also UVA/UVB almost 100%. And, it's Delray Beach FL tested this summer. Average daytime is usually around 90, with a biting sun.

I got 30% Llumar Ceramic CTX on front and rear for a uniform look. I've been very happy with it and it has not only kept the car cooler this summer, but also protected me from the sun. I think I would have been just as happy with 40% given how small our greenhouse is, but I went with 30% b/c a friend recommended it. Carlos at SolarCare in North County did my install. http://www.solarcareinc.com/auto-window-tinting/

30% CTX all around. Strongly recommended the uniform look. I think 30 gives a good balance of blocking the most sun/heat, giving a look to the car and not making it dark inside.

As my car is registered in PA, instead of 70% light transmission, I went whith 3M' s crystalline 60% light transmission in all doors and rear as well as sunroof. PA has inspections so can't do the front as windshield gets scraped yearly. I therefore use a CustomCraft sun shield. Works perfectly and better than the old metals in the mid 80s when my son nearly got heat stroke in the back seat of a corolla in Houston with the a/c on and tinted windows! Think it was a 30% tint (30%) light transmission.

Kind of interested in the same. I was never a tint guy until my Black BMW convertible. That thing would just bake in the sun and be too hot to get into.

What I learned with that car is the "type" of tint matters. I had Formula One Pinnacle Series since it did not block electrical signals and had very good heat rejection and almost complete uv rejection. It made a world of difference.

In that car I kept the sides the same (50%) since I didn't think it would like right with the top down but windows up if they were different. In the rear window the installer recommended 40% or 30% so it would look right. It looked great!

This time I'm thinking of going darker so I'm not sure if I want to keep the sides the same. I think it looks better that way but don't want to push my luck legally.

I have 30% all around live in South Florida. The law here is 28% on the fronts and i wanted the same tint all the way around so it looks uniform. I have ice silver metallic paint and this combo looks awesome together. I went with the 3M FX Premium tint and it has been great thus far.

20 rear hatch, 60 on sides. Love the look since the 20 in back gives the rear a "continuous" look from the roofline and the 60 sides are lightly tinted and won't attract attention from authorities. Since the side and hatch are on different "planes", you don't really notice the difference.

Just another option to think about.

I did what Phoenix1 did. I like the darker hatch for both the look and it being such a large window, for keeping heat out. Also went with the lighter "leave me alone" tint on the sides.
