Hello forum members, hope all are well. Just some definitive advice needed regarding the best positions for tyres. Currently have 2x Continental Conti Sport Contact 5P RO1 7mm tread on front and 2x Dunlop SP Sport MAXX GT RO1 6mm tread on the rear. Tyre size is 275 30 21. Is this the best solution for the slightly newer Contis to be on the front? or the other way around? Does anyone know the ratio for the application of power? is it biased to the front or rear? Car is 2013 (63) A7 3.0 tdi quattro Black Edition. Many thanks.
It wouldn't matter since they are only 1 mm apart and these A7 wear the tires more evenly. I dont rotate as it makes the handling a bit worse and causes some vibration over time. I prefer to keep the tires in same place when mounted and have the alignment done properly for even wear and to do road force balancing routinely every 10k miles.
The manual recommends besides tread depth tolerances, all tires should be the same size, brand and model to protect the Quattro system. Different tires have varying performance characteristics and mixing them could affect wear and handling, especially in bad weather or emergency maneuver situations.

40% front, 60% rear under normal driving conditions. However, it is generally preferable to have the "best" tyres on the front, as being able to steer is quite important
Snagitseven is correct that it is preferable to have the same tyre on both axles, but given the Contact 5P and the Maxx GT are the same genre of tyre, I don't see this as a disaster. I read a review recently which included an RS7, provided by Audi, which also had mixed brands. I suspect stocks of 275/30 x 21 are limited at the best of times, and given the cost, throwing 2 away to get a matched set hurts the bank balance. Even for Audi with their test fleet.
To ensure I wasn't mad, I did find the review and have posted a link. The RS7 had P-Zeros on the front and Contact 5P on the rear:
