Where/How to get my A7 HUD mirror "refilmed or resilvered?"?"
Hello AudiWorld! What a community!
I'm reaching out because i own a 2012 A7 and my HUD mirror has begun to flake. Rather then let Audi rob me ( said it cost 5k for the unit - plus we had to take the windshield off ) I came on to Audiworld and found the information to get it done myself for 2 hours work and a 20.00 tx20 tool from Amazon. So Thank you!
My question is "Where can i get this piece "remirrored" or "resilvered" as they call it in the UK. I'm based in Canada but can ship to the US if need be. I went to my local tint shops and most said because the piece is not glass thye are worried about it sticking to plastic.
"What exactly is the film or finish? - so i can do it myself" OR
"Where can i ship this piece to in order to get it redone?"
Any info would be great. thank you! plastic HUD piece flaking off.
