Default Interior Footwell Lights

I just drove my new A7 at night for the first time the other day. Both the driver and passenger footwells were lit up like Christmas Trees. I've never seen footwell lights while driving (only upon entering the vehicle and then they go off).

I can't find any control for this function. Has anyone found one?

It should be in the MMI, under Lighting and then Interior.

In the MMI "Lighting interior" is only the color of the ambient lighting as far as I see. Or the ability to shut it off. But the footwell isnt lit by the ambient lights.

in my car there is a seperate footwell area where you can change the brightness or turn it to 0

Yes, I finally figured it out. I thought the brightness control was just for the colored LED's. But as you said it was actually for the footwells and door lights.
I set it to a little less than halfway and it did the trick
