Default battery vent

<center><img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/55607/a8battvent.jpg"></center><p>this is probably one of those things you would only discover when you rip everything out.

If you look closely, you can see the battery vent hose which I don't think was ever connected. My car had a new Audi battery when I bought it and I never saw a vent hose.

When I got a replacement last month, I didn't even try to look for it. It was behind the carpeted panel. I think a lot of us have hooked it up this way because the vent is out of sight.

Default funny you say that.... they DO use duct tape from the factory. I'm into the depths of the car......

and it's used all over from the factory.

The fit and finish is just as impressive in areas that nobody ever sees. I'm learning a ton and seeing parts that I don't even recognize or know what they do for that matter.

It gives you a good perspective on how many things DO work flawlessly for the life of the car. We tend to harp on the same dozen things here (for good reason) but there are an awful lot of buried parts that never fail.

The factory uses it in abundance- have you not run across it before in your stable mates?

Default Oh come on man, you must never get your hands dirty on one of your babies...

Duct tape is everywhere you can see on Audi's, perfect for holding wiring in place etc...

not the silvery american kind. Just the black cloth weave tape that doesn't come off.
