Hey, i got an Audi a8 1999 with ARU engine. My question is is this model have a check engine light in my car it doesn goes up when i start the engine i thought some one must remove it or sth. But i checked my manual and in description of INstrument Cluster there is no Check engine light. So wtf?

ALL cars sold in North America, from 1995 ob, have a check engine light.
Since yours has an engine code not sold in USA cars, I assume another country(?)
Do you have an OBD2 port under the dash on the driver's side?
No it has under center ash tray. My car is form german market but i saw many A8 in europe with check light and many without. I have my original owners manual and on the description of the instrument cluster there is no Check light. On the other hand friend of mine have also A8 and he have a check light and his owner manual have a a check light description. Interesting...
Mine is ‘96 quattro ABZ. Manual has no mention of a check engine light, my dash has it but no bulb or hex bulb holder, put the 1.2w CAT bulb in and the 1.1w seatbelt bulb an doesn’t light up when ignition on. Has the ASR without fittings too but obviously coz it’s not FWD so am I spose to have a CEL or not?! Not sure if my dash is original either, have a story bout that if interested🙄 That CHECK symbol doesn’t appear in my manual. If this was spose to have a bulb in the CHECK slot then what colour/wattage is it?
