Clacking noise from A/C system

Clacking noise from A/C system
My car (2000 A8L) started to develop a clacking noise from the A/C system recently. It is becoming more frequent and happens randomly, i.e. it is not influenced by anything I do (change temp or so).
Any ideas???

You mean clicking noise in the dash?
If so, it's a HVAC motor that's not positioning the way that it should be and it's repositioning over and over.
The first step is to do an adaptation of the motors with the ross-tech software, that will solve it temporarily. Worse case, you'll have to figure out which motor it is and replace it, you could do that with the ross-tech software, measuring blocks.
I have not adapted my new climate control controller, have to do it. If I can, I will do it today and save some screen shots and write it up, very easy to do about 3 minutes total. Need to post it on audipages....

It's happened to many of us. If it helps, I went through all the combinations of vent selection whilst setting both temperature settings to first LO then up to HI, in other words operating all the motors to their extremes. It fixed it for me (and that was many many months ago). No clicking since, it's amazing how annoying it was. Good luck Austin.
