Cold A/C from pass. side only!
Recently the driver's side of our 1999 A8 will only blow seemingly ambient-temperature air (as if its pulling air from the outside and just blowing it in), while the passenger side (and center dash vent) blow the usual ice cold a/c air when the temp is turned down. I know the A/C system is fine if cold air comes form the passenger side. I'm suspecting one of the servo / blend motors is stuck or dead.
Does anyone have any more info about this problem? Where are the servos located? How hard to access? Any easy fixes?

What happens if you turn the recirc on? Shouldn't be pulling any air from outside if the recirc works.
May help you narrow down the problem without vag-com. Vag-com will tell you which flaps are not matching their target settings. If they are off by +/- 5(?) they will save a fault.

Just means you're low on refrigerant...always the 1st sign in a D2. The refrigerant enters the passengers side of the evaporator, so whats left in your system cools that side first.

Where can I buy an adapter to fit the A8's low-side valve? $15 can is cheaper than $100 evac / refill by shop. Last time it was in for a recharge, shop said there was a small leak at the compressor, but a charge would probably last for a while, which was about 1.5 months ago.
