Help- car overheating.
After the timing belt procedure at 132k miles car started to overheat. (Timing belt was in very good shape.) Thanks PaulW for audipages. No warning light on the dashboard. Pulled the code and I am getting 16501 - coolant temp signal to low. Is this sensor or ECM . Anyone had experience this before?

Is the car actually overheating?
If so, where on the temperature range is it at? Normally it would be at 11 o'clock when warmed up.
If this happened directly after timing belt replacement, it sounds like you have air in your cooling system, versus coolant.
That's why the sensor is most likely reading low, because it doesn't have coolant flowing by it.
Did you bleed the coolant system after starting up? I.E. the high point vents on the heater hoses and turning the heater to HIGH and running it?

Gage show at about 1:30 sometimes. I do not see any signs of overheating - coolant not boiling nothing is leaking. I did not bleed the coolant. Could that be it?

Weird if you don't have low coolant alarm
Bleed the system, you could of also installed the thermostat backwards???
If that doesn't work, follow the Bently procedure for troubleshooting the coolant temperature sensor.

No, I do not have coolant alarm. Coolant is at the high level. I will bleed it tonight and report.
Could this be G62 sensor. Where is it located?
