Login code for automatic transmission recoding
Is it necessary to enter a login to change the software coding in vcds vagcom?
If my auto trans shows a code of 00000, is it possible to change it to 00011 or any other code?
What should I do if after I click "do it" in vag com, it still reverts back to 00000?
(Note: I have made sure to press the brake when first checking for error codes, so that one doesn't show up. Their are no error codes when I attempt to change to 00011.)

I have followed the instructions from audipages.
I have tried 00011 and 00011 and several other codes I've seen on this forum.
I have tried turning off and then waiting several minutes before re-trying.
I have NOT tried introducing any "login" codes yet, as none of the instructions I've found mention logging in first.
Just in case...
VagCom gives this information about the Auto Trans controller:
Address 02: Auto Trans Labels: 01V-927-156.lbl
Part No: 4D0 927 156 L
Component: AG5 01V 3.7lV8 RdW D74
Coding: 00000
Shop #: WSC 00000
VCID: 3265E53AD4A9
I don't know what "RdW' means, or if it matters that the vehicle actual came with Quattro all wheel drive? As it's a Euro, not North America version, with Tiptronic gear selector, and no paddles/buttons.
To be completely honest, my ultimate interest here is not to get a different software mode to work in the transmission, as it is to see if I simply can actually get VagCom to make it change.
And then, after it changes from 00000 to some other code, to see if that will cause the Tiptronic to start working like it used to. Previously, it used to display PRND432 in the dashboard console, with only the position selected in inverted bold, and who switch to 54321 when the gear selector lever was tilted over into the tiptronic area. Now, the transmission still operates just fine, except that when tilted over into tiptronic, the display neither changes, nor does it respond to "+" nor "-" manual input from the lever: it just acts like it's in "D" without any other problems.
I wonder if it's some sort of magnet or magnetic sensor problem, if this shifter uses that to sense its position, but if that's the only problem, and the shift lever simply can't sense when it's tilted over into tiptronic, I don't think that should prevent the VCDS VagCom software from recoding it.
Or maybe it's something else?
The coding on these are different than the north american models.
He also is a 3.7 v8 which is different than the 4.2 we received stateside.. (only engine choice) other than PFL FWD A8s
