need offset/width wheel help
I want to do 19s, so that i can tuck them hard while driving if i want to, and try keep that a8 ride a little bit... i have heard that 20s will be very harsh, and i expect i cant run them as wide.
i want to run a 19x9 in the front and a 19x10 in the rear, and i dont know what offsets to run to get the most dish i can out of them, does anyone know the OEM offset? or some offsets of some very deep dish well fitting wheels?
- The Load Index is too low for the heavy A8. A 96 or higher index range is standard, the load index of the 225/35-19 is 84 or 88.
- The tire is designed for a 7.5-9" wheel width. A 10" wheel width will probably damage the tire.
225/40-18 isn't much better. What you want to use is either a 245/40-19 or 255/40-19. The diameter of the former is identical to OE, the latter is 1% larger.

A8/S8 tire options

Wheel fender/tire gap isn't a problem on my car. and i really want to be able to pull off as much dish as is possible.
a 19x9 would work nicely, although i have seen a 20x11 that has been pulled off, and it would be awesome to have that much more dish and attitude of a look. the car that i have pictured above is a 20x11
i really dont know much about tires, so the 225 was a major guess, so i really appreciate it!!! i will look into the 245/40/19 or somthing maybe a little smaller, i dont mind stretching, and i dont think it will affect it too much, i have seen it done tons of times in Europe.
TSHong, do you have any closeups of your wheel/fender lined up (see far in they are, i want mine to be flush)

Diameter = 19 + 2 x (265 x 0.30 / 25.4) = 25.3
Since that's 3% smaller than the 26.0" diameter of the 255/35-19, I wouldn't recommend it. A 3% difference is the maximum that could be tolerated by the Torsen center differential. The 265/40-19 would be much better.
Use that link in my original reply, it contains about every conceivable tire size that can be used on the A8/S8, and the link shows the tire diameter.
