popping sound and loss of power. help
pulled each lead when it was running and all sparking well. what next?
From the tail pipe? ...backfiring?
Under the hood? Just while accelerating?

No codes doesn't help much.
With a valve or valve timing problem, any car can backfire back through the intake. So, since you have a loss in power also, I'd start with a close inspection of the valve timing. You'll need to have the upper timing belt covers off, then set the crank pulley (hand turn engine with a socket wrench) to TDC at the marks. The engine hits TDC twice during a cam revolution, so if the large cam timing holes are not facing inwards, then one more rev to TDC again. Proper timing is TDC at the crank and the timing holes dead level across, with large holes facing in (every 2nd turn of the crank)...see drawing.
If the timing is correct, you might want to move on to a compression check.
The above are just guesses based on very little info.
