Readiness code?
I tried to generate a readiness code in my 96 A8 but it did not seem to want to do it and appears from what I can read that this feature is for MY 97 onward.
I can however do basic setting as a reset which seems to put all settings back to a starting point ie factory.
Can any one elaborate further on these features?

My 98 a8 has a similar problem...
98 A8l with a new battery that is not remembering its readiness codes in the engine ecu. when you vag the car while its running the readiness codes are all ok, but as soon as you turn the key off then back on ( not starting it just back on; the test requires that the engine be turned off prior to testing it) the readiness codes are gone. Once you drive the car for a bit the codes say ok again , turn it off and they are gone again...Hopefully someone here can help...
