replacing climate control bulb

replacing climate control bulb
hi has anyone replaced the bulb that goes in the display for the temp control this is my third a8 and its always been gone or gone during ownership but never replaced i do know its not just a pop out bulb i belive it to be soldered to the circuit board

Yes i did which i have replaced before but these bulbs unfortunatly only illuminate the buttons around the lcd display , i am after lcd illumination bulb belive it to be very tiny and soldered to the circuit board just wondered if what size and voltage etc...

I can't say with any experience regarding the A8, but the 1996 A6 had several "grain of wheat" bulbs to replace on the instrument display. Easily soldered in once gotten to.
These bulbs ARE available from Radio Shack or do a net search by that descriptor.
12 VOLTs! What else???

many thanks for that as i thought. unfortunantly don`t have radio shack in the uk but will try a outlet called RS i am sure they could help me .
