Default slow acceleration

I have 01 Audi A8 L.
It accelerate fine in automatic when I switch to
tiptronic and I step on the gas pedal it doesn't accelerate when its on 4-5 gear no matter how hard I step on the gas the RPM doesn't want to go up. Is this normal? I just bought this car so I dont know much about it.
I have replaced, Fuel Filter, Spark Plug, Air Filter. Also changed oil put 0w-30 full sync..

Is this at any rpm?

If your in 4th or 5th gear traveling at city street speeds (25-35mph) your acceleration will be poor do to the car now down shifting on its own and 4th and 5th gears are too tall to accelerate quickly at those speeds until higher rpms.

Like Jason said, it depends on the speed you're going. First car?

If you've ever driven a manual, you know you don't get added acceleration by stomping on the gas...you downshift, THEN step on the gas.
Your A8 will wind out to 85mph in 3rd gear and up to 128mph in 4th..5th is an overdrive ratio made for steady speeds and VERY gradual acceleration. High rpm = max acceleration.

Tiptronic mode is for engine braking going down hills or, in other conditions, for a skilled driver who understands the relationship between speed, rpm and torque. If you want dependable acceleration without doing the math, keep it in "drive".
As advertised, Tip mode is MANUAL shifting ONLY (unless you're completely out of range and it will shift to a usable gear) and assumes that YOU know what to do.

Have you REALLY not noticed that when you step on the gas an auto trans downshifts? If not, the trans is smarter than you are and it's best to let it make the hard decisions.

Wow......

People have had luck with the GIAC transmission chip flash. You can also have the transmission coded to "sport" mode with a VAG, which will give you quicker downshifts, but not as reponsive as the GIAC software.

There is a "kickdown" switch under the accelerator pedal. It has a round black plastic top to it. When in "tip" manual mode and you press the accelerator pedal all the way to the floor you will press this switch. It will take a second or two and the car should automatically drop down to a lower gear and the engine rpm's will go up. If this is not working like that, you need to turn the black plastic round part of the switch a 1/4 turn clockwise. There will be very little resistance in this turn. It should click into position. Now the transmission will kick down to a lower gear when in tip mode ONLY when the accelerator pedal is fuly pressed to the floor

Thanks, I will give that a try.

This is my car

It's super clean in and out, I am thinking of selling it.
It has 130k and run very strong, I am thinking of getting smaller car
due to gas price.

If you mainly drive highway, try and keep your right foot out of the accelerator pedal and you can get better mileage. The trade off in mileage is well worth the quality of car you have now. Safe. Timeless elegance and style. You can not beat it really.
