The installation is overall fairly easy. Just loosen up the two screws (don't remember the size) holding the airbag (note the screw covers in the picture I posted, they pop right off), you might want to turn the wheel 1/8th of a turn left and right to have enough clearance for the tools, while loosening the screws. Then disconnect the battery before you unplug the airbag connector. The center bolt was also fairly easy to remove. I used a 6-point T-50 bit with a 3/8th's drive ratchet and extension to remove it. Swapping the wheel should take about an hour at most. Just make sure when you go to torque the center bolt, have someone assist you by holding the wheel firmly so you don't brake the electric steering wheel lock. Good luck, and post pics when you're done. What kind of wheel did you get?

I had the wheel customized by CraftCustoms in Texas. My wheel setup is 22x9 in front with a 10mm spacer, and 22x10.5 in the rear. My tires are Nitto Invo's, 255/30/22 in front and 275/30/22 in the rear.

You know I was curious myself, on how they added the piano black trim. The wheel originally was all leather, and requested the gloss piano black trim to be added. By looking at the wheel, it looks like the encased the shape (glossy portions) with a type of resin, sanded/shaped it, and then painted it using urethane paint, something I could of easily done. The only thing was the leather re-wrap, so I let them do all the custom work. I really like the overall feel of the new steering wheel, the leather grain really makes it feel luxurious and alot more comfortable than the old wheel.

Wow STRKLDR! That looks awesome...I'm very tempted to get that steering wheel...Where can I get that steering wheel?

I guess this is just an opinion, but do you guys think it will look silly on our D3?
