Front struts
I had a problem with a leaking passenger side front strut. I heard a popping sound and now both sides are effected. The front of the car at its lowest.
do you have to replace both front struts or just the one that leaked??

both sides are lowered but not the rears.
Helps me going forward with my sale price.
07 w12 with 130k and I’m the second owner. I was just offered $4,000 for it.

In a perfect world, yes. But new struts aren’t an economically sound proposition anymore. Besides, a rebuilt strut has a used damper of unknown mileage on it anyway, so likely a better match for the other strut. The other airbag may soon fail, or more likely it won’t. It’s worth the roll of the dice. Especially as worst case its just another $600 for a rebuild, or less depending on how much work you want to put in yourself.

If a person is doing the wrench work themselves then it makes sense (to me at least) to do both sides at the same time since the total job is about 3 hrs and both struts can be purchased between $425 - $545.
