help
i want to put hid's on my fog lights to match the hids on head lights any one know what type of bulbs are ine the 2007 audi a8 is it h7? and do you recommends what company for these bulbs... also im thinking of putting on 2008 tail lights anyone know how much they run or where i can get them a lil cheaper than factory.

It's an H7 but...
having thought about this myself, I am concerned about the cornering light function that also uses the fogs, at least on my car. I suspect that may have a dimming sort of feature to it--seems like a "soft" turn on and turn off like a dimmer may be involved. Need to investigate more. If so, that could not sit well with true HID's that presumably want full voltage into their ballast pack. The sudden "flash" type light off that HID's have may also startle people when the cornering light kicks in, part of the reason I suspect it may have a dimming type gradual on design.
Meanwhile, I use the 65W Osram H7's. Color is good and wattage seems w/in range of fusing and wire guage still. I only use fogs now when needed, so I'm not so much into styling as I am into general function. Supposedly these are 2100 lumens vs. 14-1500 lumens for a standard 55w H7. Search on Osram 65W or Hoen for higher performance bulb info.

Neither the dynamic cornering lights or the static turning lights use the fogs.
The big issue is the fog light unit on the '05 and up. The beam pattern will blind the living hell out of everyone. If it was an '04 with the projector fog's I'd say go for it.
