Lowering the A8 S8 Phaeton without a module or Vag-Com!

Has anyone evaluated this hardware solution for an inexpensive 30 mm ride height reduction on their Audi A8? A buddy of mine did the install on this Phaeton. I feel pretty confident it would work on the Audi with air suspension.
