I am disappointed that I cannot play MP3 cd's on my cd changer (2005 A8L). Does anyone know of a way around this? What a shame, my Ford pickup truck plays mp3's. Thanks guys.

Not having a digital audio adaptor is one thing (totally inexcusable and lame)

But not being able to play mp3 encoded cds is just science fiction. It's beyond unbelievable.

It's like some kind of practical joke that I can't wrap my mind around because _nobody_ _anywhere_ in the _history of the world_ would be so clueless and braindead as to not the ability to play mp3 encoded cds in this cd changer.

You guys enjoy that fiber optic bus and computerized cd changer. It's really doing a lot of great things for you. (and is the reason I am not buying an A8) (yet)

Yes it did, and the folks at Clair were wrong. I called them twice to ensure that it would work on the 05 A8 and I was told yes both times. Well it is not for the newer A8's and I returned it. The parts guy at Clair said they had the wrong description on the part number. It is about time Audi did something about this issue.

nah ... the good technology is for the a3 ...

you know, that mp3 stuff is just for the kids...

People with 80k to spend will just need a way to play their 3-4 classical music cds, right ?

Audi... is anyone there?

I would sure like to hear an explanation from someone at Audi as to why an iPod connection seems to be so difficult to implement. Considering that Apple sold 14 million iPods last quarter alone, I and other people on this board can't be the only ones looking for a solution to this problem. Does anyone from Audi ever respond to questions on this board? Given how uninformed the dealerships seem to be, some direct communication from Audi might help defuse some of the frustration caused by our inability to simply get a straight answer.
