Odometer problem

I have a '04 A8L with a 24xxx vin. This morning the car had 3370 miles on the odometer. Went to get gas, turned off enginge and after filling up pushed zero to clear trip odometer (380 miles), started car up and the odometer had 8007 miles.

Crazy....never seen that happen in any car.

Anyone have any suggestions? It says it's in "miles". Can't be in km either cause it doesn't calculate out.

PLease help

Find a LOCAL place for gas. Driving 5000 miles to fill up

is insane!

I think you're the first with this type of issue...time to call your service advisor.

Hard to believe you have a two year old car with less than 5k miles on the clock! Maybe the car's trying to tell you something :-)

yeah I tried calling today but no one knew what I was talking about.

If you find a dealer who will reset it for you, be sure to let us know.

I'd like to do that at every service interval.

I'm thinking you were drunk or stoned last night. :-)

I don't know what I was thinking...
I usu drive my passat which has the trip odo on bottom and reg odo on top. This is opposite on the audi. So I must have glanced at the trip odo thinking it was the reg odo - the 337.0 miles turned into 3370 miles for me...

I wonder what I would have seen if I was drunk...
