parking sensor intermitent
I know it's a PITA to replace a parking sensor but wondering if it's possible to access the connector? My sensor graphic works sometimes, and sometimes not. Middle left rear sensor shows up as faulty on a scan. Depending on temperature, the graphic and beep works. It hadn't worked at all for last 4-5 months and when the temps got really cold, it started working again (about 50% of the time).
I'd love to unplug and reconnect the sensor because it seems like a flaky connection.
Is there anyway to get at it without pulling the rear bumper cover off?

Why do you think its hard to access the parking sensors? The rear ones are simply a matter of looking/reaching behind the bumper with no disassembly required. I replaced one near the left rear muffler in 10 minutes. FYI, I've seen used wiring harnesses all over eBay for cheap. The parking sensors themselves go for about $10.

Videos I've seen require the bumper cover to be pulled off. Or at last partially pulled. The one that shows up as bad is my rear, middle left. I even purchased the sensor (yes, cheap) but haven't gotten around to replacing because I thought my hand would never fit in there to reach it.
Love your photo. Brings back memories. While I'm sure this dual wheel Mercedes is on a truck chassis with a diesel, it resembles a 1953 220 gas model sedan I bought when in 1964. (I was 19 and paid $35 bucks for it). It ran, but knocked. I thought about dropping a small block Chevy V8 in it but frame was too narrow so rebuilt the 220. It was neat with suicide doors. Wish I still had it.
