Car has been in dealer for a week just assesing the problems....
Audi Austalia wont do any thing until the prices have been quoted, like trim and roof lining, airbag connectors etc etc etc.
These parts are not common replacement parts so have to wait for prices to be given to Audi Australia for warranty work. This is where the problem lies; In Australia we only have 3 year, unlimited klm warranty, but have purchased 2 year additional warranty...thank god for this..
The car was originally first registered as an Audi Austalia car and purchased by the dealer from Audi in August 05 and i purchased the car in December 05, with 19,000 klm.
Have driven the car for about 15,000klm over last 10 months. To top it off the dealer has given me a A4 2 litre loan car, bloody front wheel drive....Keep you all on the update soon.. cheers
Yet.
Car has 74,000 miles (about 119,000km) I can't wait to hear how much it costs for the timing belt to be replaced. I have the service manual CD and the job looks complicated plus the special tools will run me $500 US. Unless they tell me over $1500 then it's time for me to get busy!
Anyone here tackle the timing belt themselves on a D3 4.2L???
