Default Is this safe?

I have a 2006 A8L with a/c perforated seats. Is it safe to use something like a shish kabob wooden or metal skewer to enter each perforation in order to try to "reopen" fully each hole? It seems like over time there is noticeably less cooling effect coming through.
Thanks,
Andy

I highly doubt that your reduction in airflow has anything to do with the size of the holes in the leather. More than likely, the fans are either getting tired, or are getting clogged up themselves. Have fun tearing the seats apart to get in there to clean that, however.

😁 I wouldn't attempt to shish kabob the seats.

I have the perforated, ventilated seats in my A6 and made the mistake of using a heavy application of leather conditioner which blocked most of the holes reducing the air flow. I used a small paperclip tip in each of the holes to clear the residue (I would avoid anything larger). It took some time to carefully hit each one but it restored the air flow. I now use the conditioner sparingly for a light coat.

I know it sounded barbaric. And I didn't intend to go in more than an inch or so. Thanks.

Can't imagine what those German engineers stuffed into that seat, considering all of the adjustable positions, the massager, the ventilation, and who knows what other surprises!

A quarter inch with the paperclip should do it if the holes are clogged. Don't need to go much deeper.
