shadow line trim

Wondering if anyone out there has painted the chrome trim body pieces to match the body color. On BMWs, this is known as shadowlilne trim onthe sport series, and it looks awesome. Im thinking my black a8 would look great with a similar treatment.

Being black - you could experiment easily with some black tape

over the chrome trim to see if you really like it.

I have found that the chrome trim - at least on the A8 - looks very classy and rich.

No surprise the guy didn't like the result and then it was almost impossible to remove right. And replacing that trim typically involves major door surgery, certainly on that car.

Definitely tape it out first to get a feel. My guess is it won't look right--too dark/sinister. Reminds me of a black SS Impala or something, especially if the windows are tinted out or the wheels are done dark or something.

thanks, glad I asked, it thought door trim would come off easy, but if not, this is too scary of a project. I'll stick to things i can handle, like floor mats.

Try www.shadowline-tape.com That is what I used. They carry tape and vinyl. I ordered the tape, because they said it goes around the corners so much easier, and it did. I tried the vinyl a couple years ago and had a lot of problems.
