TRUNK PROBLEMS AGAIN
MY 04 NOW HAS 120K ON IT. AUDI REPLACED TRUNK HINGES 3 YEARS AGO UNDER A
AFTER WARRANTY RECALL BUT NOW ITS DONE IT AGAIN. ANYONE HAD SIMILIAR REOCCURANCE? ROGER

I've never had to have my trunk hinges replaced. In my paperwork it shows the previous owner had the trunk adjusted. Only problem I have is that sometimes when cold the trunk won't lock shut, instead it closes flush then reopens without latching. But it's not worth the pricey repair so I wait till warmer day til it locks.

Mine was in a minor rear end collision a couple of months ago. After having the bumper replaced, the trunk would not lock on cold days. The dealer "replaced the latch and adjusted it". It now works perfectly. I don't know how much it cost to do this since he billed the body shop who in turn billed the insurance company but I did not get the impression it was an expensive repair.

Okay great, because in the future if the trunk has a lot of problems closing I will have the latch replaced, just so glad it's not too expensive. Usually it never is it is almost always the labor that is outrageous.
