and what about the Pilot Sport A/S Plus...
My concern with the Yokohamas is their ability in light snow. I'm up in Portland, Oregon and we get a few days of moderate snow ( and I have chains for bad days). So I was looking at the michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus as an option.
I've seen a few complaints here about noise from the older Pilot Sports A/S tires, wondered if anyone here has the Plus versions in 255/40/19 and if noise was, again, a problem.
I see that they're only load rated at 96Y and wondered if this might be an issue on a SWB A8
I know people say they don't do this but ....
I now use the Pirelli P Zero M&S as a winter season tire and the P Zero as the summer tire. They have been excellent.
I've actually got the tires on my car now. I had a chunk of sidewall somehow tear in the front drivers tyre and the tread was almost so smooth you could see your face in it, so i needed new wheels pronto. The Pilots were in stock locally so i went for them. How concerned should I be about the low load rating ?
They are way quieter than the Pirelli's that were on before, but I'd loved to have had a bit more time to choose. I'll keep y'all updated as to how they wear.
My Bridgestone snowtires are quieter!
It took sullivan tire, nashua nh 2.5 hours to put them on, Lord knows why, I can only assume they didn't know what they were doing. took 45 minutes to figure out how to reset the tpms on the dash, even after I told them how to do it. Unless they can find something fundamentally wrong, off they come and something better goes on. I'm sure they'll screw me out of more bucks to remount and balance new tires even if I get warranty replacments.
I am a very laid back driver. I mean, like grandma. I notice tire rack doesn't recommend these, but Sullivan did. I went with them since they had high marks on noise.
Please, tell me I've got something wrong!

I live in southeast michigan and get some snow (approx 4 inches up to 8 inches or more at a time) but this comes when there are snow storms. I am curious as to how the yokohamas advan handled in the snow compared to those original pirellis which I have right now. THe pirellis are horrendous in the snow. Please let me know. I had the michelin pilot sport a/s on my Lexus sedan and they where so noisy and vibrate badly in grooved highways due to their thread patterns. I am looking at the yokohamas.
