Name: null_zps6399cffa.jpg Views: 788 Size: 81.5 KB

Small black sprung push button ie doesn't stay on or off. I can't work out what it does. Its on the LHD rear pillar but not on the right. Wondering if its something to do with the entertainment system the last owner fitted??

It is definitely aftermarket. Unless somebody used to have something in the back seat that has been added previously. It's either it stopped working or it's been removed before they got rid of the car.

I just can't think what you would have wired up to such a switch? It doesn't click on and off, just pushes in & out.

Possibly a reset switch for the rear seat multimedia. Only thing I could think of is that or a quiet switch for a radar detector, but that would only make sense to have it within reach of the driver.

check your owner's manual.
on some markets, mostly Asia the A8 has an ionizer for the rear a/c.
the switch is right in that spot but don't know the actual shape of the switch.
