Default Window programming

Driver window goes down and stops about 2" above the fully open position. Recently had a dead battery and I believe this problem started immediately after. I seem to recall windows having to be cycled once manually while holding the switch before they work in auto-down mode. Could I have screwed up that teaching process? How do you relearn the down limit?

No sure if this will correct your issue, but iyou might try this. In the manual on page 43, "To reactivate the 1 touch function, run the window all the way up and release the switch, then pull it up again for at least 1 second."

Default No dice

Thank s for the suggestion. I just ran out and tried it but no good. 1 touch was already working, but it seems to have learned this "almost open" position as being the full open. I cannot lower the window any further by any means. It seems like I need to erase the current down limit and teach it a new one 2" lower.

There is a way to reset it and recalibrate it, I just don't recall.

Could it be the pinch protection?

Take a look at this youtube video regarding an Audi TT, he discusses re-calibrating these things after a battery disconnect/reconnect cycle. It sounds like it could be pinch protection. I replaced the entire window motor on my front drivers side window and re-programmed the computer on the window motor, and it goes all the way up / down although acts fussy sometimes. I believe its the pinch prot - I'm goign to re-program for that myself.

Anyway, let us know if the video's technique works for you. It is very similar to the pinch protection program/reset on the sun roof.

Default Still up 2"

Thanks but the video shows same procedure richr suggested above. My window works fine as far as the 1 touch feature. The problem is that it stops 2" short of fully down. There could be an obstruction in the track that caused it to learn this spot as the down limit when I did the reset procedure (as shown in the video) after my dead battery incident. I can't figure out how to make it forget this artificial down limit so I can perform the teach routine again. I suppose I could disconnect the battery again but that creates so many other potential problems that I would really rather not.
