Does the A8 have Auto Hold function Avail?
I test drove the new A8 4.0T today, and I've got to say its an amazing car. Im coming over from BMW, and am extremely impressed. Currently I'm in a 2009 750i and the interior doesn't even compare to the A8, let alone the new 4.0T really gives the BMW a run for it's money now.
With that said, I am looking to purchase the new A8 this week. Something I'd really like to have on the vehicle is the "auto hold" button, that is located directly under the parking break button on most BMW's, as well as the new S7. Does the A8 have this option available? I can't find it anywhere, but the dealer told me it was an option.
Thanks,
Robert

Most people call me "lazy" for not just holding your foot on the brake like everyone else. Until you travel through Los Angeles for 100+ miles a day, then you'll greatly appreciate it.
Does anyone know why the European cars would have this and the US doesn't? Patent/licensing issue with another company? Safety regulations?

My only concern with getting rid of the lexus was overal quality, workmanship and reliabilty. I still think Lexus is the best made car on the planet (and so far their service is beter than AUDI). I have had 3 Lexus cars since the late 90's and they are pretty much problem free. I am on my 3rd AUDI and so far, the AUDI's seem to be having more than their share of issues. Even my A8, at 1400 miles will be going into the shop next week. I suppose its a compromise but I will say that i will be keeping my eye on lexus and if they ever produce an interior and a ride that approaches AUDI (Their latest '13 LS model still doesnt come close), I will be gong back to Lexus. For now I am crossing my fingers with AUDI cars

Probably some DOT or NHTSA red tape.
Similar to what the Sales Manager related to me about diesels and how every teensy variation is considered a different model and needs to be crash tested / rated.
Was not aware the Euro versions had it - learned something new today
