Keyless System Malfunction?
Hi everyone. I had something odd happen to me on the way to work this morning.
I haven't driven my car in about a week. Started fine, most of the drive went uneventful. I was most of the way to work talking through the hands free function, and it cut out briefly, then my key light (the one that asks where the key is) came on. Then I realized whenever the mmi cut out for the call, my HVAC controls would also cut out.
I only have my OBD 11 with me, so I tried to scan it this morning, and it stopped scanning at 05 Keyless system. No amout of retrying would get it to scan past that.
Not sure the root cause of the issue, and this is going to drive me nuts all day. It'll probably have to wait until I get home. Chances are I maybe bumped something when I took it apart to install my radar detector, but who knows. Are those systems related? I don't remember seeing them tied together in the Erwin manual, but that's also at home on my laptop as well as my vcds cable. Is this something anyone has experienced before or am I on my own.

Yes, it happened to me, (more or less... the same)
Keyless feature stopped working when I connected my dashcam permanently, picking on the power source wire on the front upper overhead light control panel.
Try to find a new source (still in this panel) and your prob should go away.

Edit: Whoops, it's a 30A, it's one of the positives that runs through the main harness to power lots of stuff it seems. I used one of those vampire taps then wrapped it in tape. I couldn't imagine why it'd be shorting out. Hasn't happened again today. The dash cam and RD didn't power cycle when it happened (I have a valentine one, you know when the darn thing power cycles). Maybe I need to take things apart and look at it.
