Standard 19" wheels are curb rash nightmare!!!
I thought of myself as a decent driver. But in 9 months since I have had this car, I've put curb rashes on to 3 of 4 wheels. First of all, this is a very large car, both in length and width. All my rashes have come from entrances and exits from parking garages with their narrow lanes.
However, the standard wheel and tires leave a lot to be desired. 19" wheels have these aluminum trim that stick way out and the standard ContiPro tires have no wheel protecting beads at all. With wheels like these, deeply inset tire beads or prominent rim protecting bead would have been very nice.
