Suspension noise - Is this normal?

Update on mine: Indy originally changed out the sway bar end links to the updated version and the noise was worse. Today he installed new sway bar bushings and the noise is totally gone. New bushings were marked as made by Bosch...he said the old ones with 28k miles on them were shot.

I had the same problem on my 13 A8. After a month of purchase the same noise you have started for me as well. I assumed it was my shocks so I took it to them but they told me its the sway bar (thank god because new shocks were 1500 a piece). Now the problem is gone. Make sure they check the sway bars before they try to do tell you is something else, you dont want to waste your money on something that wont solve the problem.

I will do some digging through erWin to find the info I need on which bushing specifically I need to use as a replacement.
I assume they replaced the bushing and not the actual sway bar?

Yes, just replace the two bushings; you could not get the entire sway bar for $30. Easiest thing to do is call one of the online vendors and order the parts. Make sure that they are German made.

Update: I got the car back Monday evening. The dealer had the shop foreman drive it out to me and swap with the loaner car, which was nice of them to do. Ultimately, they replaced the driver's side front air strut and recalibrated the air suspension, and replaced the front sway bar links and sway bar bushing. The car sounds fine now when going over the same speed bumps. It has been warm here (>60* F) the past couple of days, so I'll keep an eye on it as it gets colder again and bring it back if the noise returns.
