Avant people: Is there a way to remove the roll-up screen from the rear...
hatch trim? I used the hatch rear trim removal procedure posted by Dan Hussey in the UrS-car FAQ (Thanks, Dan)and here (Thanks, Brant) and have all the trim panels off the hatch. (Wow, no more squeeking while driving!!). Looking at the big piece with the hidden flaps and the roller screen, I can see the pointy ends of two screws that seem to hold the screen box in place. However, at this point, I can't see how to get at those screws from the head end OR whether this will help (there might be bits that are welded plastic).
Any help will be appreciated.
PS: I am planning on taking photos of the disassembly/assembly to show better where the various clips are, etc.
(Found out that the Audi service guys didn't know how to remove the trim. Several broken bits, including the hidden screws - neither was actually screwed in and one tab was busted away from the trim (fixable with JB weld).

I did all this a year ago. Sun shade is screwed in place from underneath the panel
Put it all back together using the fuzzy side of self adheasive velcro so that nothing touches anything without touching the velcro fuzzy material first and it'll be dead quiet. Including the roller shade assembly against the rear trim panel.

This is a constant noise from my A6 as well, the trim likes to rub and I've taken it apart and used grease but can't seem to get rid of all the noise.
I like the idea of the sunshade but never used it as a PO ripped it and used fishing line to sew it back together rather half ***.
I would entertain finding a nicer one at a yard and replacing it.
I'll have to take Austinado's advice and pick up some velcro to give a buffer between the frame and trim.
