CD Unit and clock question
1. the car came with a BOSE audio system. I want to install a Faceplate(cd player). Should i just take it to a professional or is it easy enough to install by myself.
2. THe clock is incorrect ever since i got into my accident. The **** that's supposed to change the time doesnt do anything. ANyone know how to fix it.
The problem arises when connecting the amplified signal from the new deck to the BOSE speaker/amplifier setup. If you connect to the amps you will blow them, if you connect to the speakers the system will sound like crap because the speakers are matched to the amps.
Now if my knowledge of audio gear is correct, the easiest solution is to replace the deck with one that has front and rear preout connectors. These put out an un amplified (line level) signal which you should be able to run to the BOSE amplifiers without causing them any harm.
Now I won't guarantee that this will work properly but if you can wait a week or so I'm going to give it a test in my car and I'll let you know the deal then.
As for the clock...mine's been off since daylight savings, if you figure it out let me know.
