Green light on in dash and no idea what it stands for !!
Anyone please.. Thanks ***** Will
Does your check engine light work when the car is started up, I mean does it light up when the key is in the on position but the engine has not been started? If not (and that green light does what I stated before), It's possible someone didn't put a lamp back in the correct spot. I think there are three lights that work on that part of the console. The airbag light, the check engine light, and one more (I think) but I forget what it is.
If you just bought the car I would bet that someone put the light there to mask the check engine light, and if you've had the car for a long time then someone probably mistakenly did it.
I don't mean to worry you about your check engine light, I mean, i could be completely wrong.
As I recall the lights starting from left to right are :
1. 4 way flasher (2 arrows pointing outward, green background)
2. Air bag warning light, red background.
3. Check engine light, lighting bolt going thru and engine (amber backbround).
4. Seat belt warning light, torso with belt (red background).
My car only has the air bag, engine check and seat belt lights. If I remove the dash there are color coded light bulb holes and matching colored tape on the three bulb bases.
and that's all I remmember, be it correct or incorrect.
A friend of mine has a '93 MB 190 and he has the individual little indicator lamps for blown lights, worn brakes, oil pressure, etc, etc
Just an idea
