Default Did it run after you replaced the fuel filter?.....

And also can you hear the fuel pump working when you turn the key?

It had started only after I seperated line before fuel rail and reconnected. I then drove to dealer to follow up. dealer replaced plugs because car also would hitch a little at times at slow speeds especially climbing hills. It does not do that now. It just wont start. and no I cannot hear pump.thanks for replying Mr fix-it.

I would check the fuses for the fuel pump and also any relays. Sorry don't know which fuses and relays because I have a 90, but I am sure someone does. I would also check the wiring to the fuel pump. This may not be your problem at all but considering your symptoms, it sounds like a good place to start. I would be careful about trying to put fuel in the front of the system like you were talking about. This is a fuel injected car and you can start a fire that way.

Hi Mr.Fix-it,Sorry Idid not get back to you sooner;I worked all day and had no access to computer.I did check fuses ,all good.As far as seperating fuel line just before fuel rail;I did so only to find out if I was getting fuel to rail. And I was not.Although today my wife called me to say that the car started.I will say last summer while on the highway travelling 70mph the car quit like somebody pulling the plug.I coasted to a stop ;puzzeled;tried to restart & it started right up;no problems for months .Like I said it is running now.
Ps. thanks for the reminder on the extreme dangers between fuel ,electrical, and hot surfaces.thanks for responding. As far as the highway engine stop;the audi dealer thought it might be related to ignition switch;could this be linked to the past no start? Could the relay be sticking? Hope you had a nice day.

Yesterday it started fine. This morning it started fine. This afternoon no start. With key in on position I hear no fuel pump.I seperated line between flex hose and fuel rail and no pressure found when backing off flare nut.with key in on position ,no fuel.So I seperated line before fuel filter and turned key to on position no fuel.Looked for relay behind panel under steering wheel. Do not see on label unless it is a German term I'm not familiar with. Was hoping to drive it to dealer Tues Wed Thurs(days -off) Any help would be appreciated. thanks Hope you all had a nice weekend. We're glad the snow is gone! PS There is plenty of fuel in tank.

Default Follow up...................

93100csq ;next morning car starts;well...I found fuel relay (diesel/jetronics)#208, thanks to Mr. fix-its reply. I pulled out relay and checked receptacle with multimeter to find out where current was present with key on.(the copper colored spade on relay). If she fails to start in morning I'll put multitester on relay receptacle and if no juice then its ahead of relay .If there is juice and no start (with relay in) then it should be relay or pump or maybe loose, (damaged) wire. Could'nt get parts over weekend so might as well have fun troubleshooting.Thank god for having more than one vehicle.going to drive to dealer tommorrow ...I hope...
