P0733

Hello all, my first post....

My son has a '96 Audi A6 ATX with the 12V motor. It has about 55k on it and the tranny is making noises. This along with a P0733 seems to be heading it for a new tranny. Is replacing the who thing and the Torque Converter the ususal routine?

what is the description for P0733?

Also my tranny has more then 140K miles and so far is fine. I would sugest to start with the replacing transmission fluid. It will cost you ~$100.

From what I've read it means the torque converter is slipping when in third gear.

P0733. Incorrect gear ratio 3rd gear.

What does it take to flush the fluid? How many quarts? Is there a good place to get parts online?
