Default Did you grab it at the cassette opening and pull?

You need to insert those tools (can be made by cutting a credit card), and pulling & jiggling the damn thing out.

Default heres some advice

if you put the screwdrivers in.. and make sure you push them in and away from the center of the radio.. the tabs will push in and you can pull the radio out from the cassette openeing..

Default Re: PLEASE HELP! BETTER IDEA!!!

i couldnt find my DIN tools so i used 4 nails that would fit into the holes and then angled them so i had pressure onto the whole thing and pulled the radio out. should work for every 4 pin din radio. the radio is kind tight in there so it maybe needs some force

Default It was probably me who told you that, and it works great.....

It works even better if you can find a helper to push out on one side and pull from the tape deck.

Default It could be the screwdrivers you used are not thick enough to ...

push in the latch mechanism. Try using some new nails as suggested by B-SK 1982, if you can get ones about 2.5mm dia. about 1.5" to 2" long. As you push them in, you should feel the resistance of the clip they are pushing against. You may need to press the head of the nails away from the centre of the radio to make sure they fully retract the clips. :-)

Default I cut a wire coat hanger into 4 pieces and bent the ends to make a handle. It's easier if you...

have a helper. This is one of those jobs that you just have to "play with" and figure out. Eventually it will come out.

Don't spend the money on the removal tool. There will be plenty of opportunity to spend your money in the future:-)

Default Re: PLEASE HELP!

Do you know Blaupunkt ??? The tool is the same as for Audi Radios.
It will work with nails or something like that but be careful not to brake things in there.
