Default Radio

Hi folks.

I have the Delta CC radio in my Audi A6/1995.
The radio keeps on turning off every hour of continuously operation.

I have the user manual but it is in german (language I don´t speak).

Can anyone help me? Is this a misprogramation?

Default one of the fuses are blown or your ignition switch is the cause

does the radio come on when the car is turned on or do you have to manually turn it on

Default Pretty common, really.

When you have the radio on and you remove the key from the ignition, it is supposed to turn off. If the key is not in the ignition and you turn the radio on, it is on an hour timer so you don't drain your battery. For some reason(my '96 is the same way as yours) the lead from the ignition to the radio that should be live with the key on, isn't. I've considered just connecting another Ign-live lead to that terminal on the radio, since I can't find anything wrong with my harness and all my fuses are fine. I suppose I could just switch out my Ign. switch, but just haven't gotten around to it.

Default info for both of you..

if the radio is the only thing not working properly then the problem maybe a missing plunger
which should be located between the electrical portion of the switch and the mechanical part that activates the switch..

if the switch was changed anytime in the past the plunger may have fallen out..

That problem occurs when I am traveling with my car. The engine is running and after one hour, the radio turns off.

The radio is always turned on manually.

Default Your radio thinks that the ignition is off, key removed.

It's getting power from an always hot source, and running through a timed circuit(key off and out circuit).
The key on circuit is your problem- There's no connection from the radio to the ignition. Whether it is the harness or the connection at either end, that's what you need to determine. I'm with AL in thinking that the ignition switch is most likely the culprit.
